2. If this really saved fuel big airlines would buy it. The fact is every significant airline has a fuel program and can police it from their QAR. To the degree they police it is a mystery

Another mystery to me is how a cargo carrier who doesn't have to worry about the greater concern of passenger safety would think it makes sense for them to invest in AFIRS. The only logical explanation are cost savings elswwhere generated through using of AFIRS.
