Argex’s patented extraction process for pigment grade TiO2 production allows us to capture the entire supply chain in one process. We uniquely convert low cost ilmenite into high purity TiO2 that meets the rigorous requirements of the coating and plastic industries, all while maintaining high energy efficiency, low emissions and a closed-loop design. ------------------------------------------------------------------ The Senior Accountant assists the Corporate Controller in executing, analyzing and improving the organization's accounting functions. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Enter and review journal entries, accruals, allocations, GL transactions and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly financial statements Regularly produce and distribute project reports, support managers and answer their questions and queries Support NI 52-109 documentation requirements and internal control requirements by assisting in the writing or remediation of existing or proposed procedures recommended by external consultants and auditors Prepare and provide documents for year-end audits and government audits Analyze accounts, records, reports, journal entries, ledgers, and other accounting documents for accuracy and completeness Supervise submission of GST/PST returns and remittances Reconcile tax and payroll accounts, preparation of reports, and address other fiscal matters and reports (SRED returns, mining tax credit claims, T4's, Relevé 1's) Perform financial level expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statement Support month-end and year-end closing process Assist in the development of long-range financial forecasts and related budgets Interact with audit firms in the preparation of quarterly financial statements and annual audited statements Review cash requirements and prepare bank transfers as needed Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential. EDUCATIONS & EXPERIENCE Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or any other relevant field Professional designation (CA / CMA / CPA / CGA) is required Must have at least 6 years of related work experience; public accounting experience an asset. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and internal control principles. Experience with preparation of financial reporting for a public company, IFRS accounting standards, bookkeeping, journal entries, payroll & DAS, GST/PST filing, R&D claims, banking, financial instruments and budgeting.
