RE:RE:SENSIO Launches a New Universally Compatible Version of its If it means Samsung and others are more likely to join the party then I'm happy. I don't have #'s to support this, but I am confident having 3DGO on their platform is leading to incemental sales for LG. As the number of LG 3DGO users continues to grow it only makes sense that Samsung (and others) will want a piece of the pie.
The days of hoping for $.50/unit or $.25/unit for Hi-Fi licensing revenues are long gone. If not the share price would be MANY multiples of where it is today.
For SIO the future is "the Netflix of 3D" rental model plus S2D/other patent licensing revenues for the foreseeable future. Patent revenues alone could still cover operating costs in the future, but to really drive growth we need users. And if the new format helps to get Samsung, etc on board that's great.
In the very near term (this month) we should see 3DGO's first expansion outside of the USA into Canada. Then hopefully international next. I'd like to see Routhier come though on promises faster as well, but at least we're moving forward.
