It all comes down to the mentality of retail investors. They think that because they own the stock, they don't anything that is bad about owning the company.

I call it the Stock-Holm syndrome. the worse these Vancouver promotors screw the shareholder over, the better the shareholder thinks the company is and everything is just hunkey dorrie.
