Personally I'd like to see them do more deals and use the money for acquisitions or pay down debt completely instead of paying a dividend as I think doing deal ends up showing a better return than paying out money where taxes and other fees need to be deducted.
40mio shares is ok for me and still leaves room for doing some share deals when there are interesting opportunities. As they want to become THE diversified royalty company I see the combination with Callinan as a decent move getting the first flows from copper and gold and adding some interesting royalties in the making.
What I like as well is that they semm to concentrate on such companies for takeovers that are just money managers as I would put it. Altius does generate projects themselves too. The question is what geographical diversification Altius is willing to take as I have one other name in my mind that might be interesting for them. And I do not mean Eurasian Minerals. I think Eurasian is better off staying independent because they are staking projects of their own and getting bought would lead to the loss of brain power whicih I would regret giving good credit to Altius' and Eurasians people.
Unfortunately I haven't got filled yesterday but I think Altius is something for the long term that could become something like Franco Nevada in the long term.
Just my personal thoughts. DYODD

I think EMX is a target if ALS intends to gain more exposure to copper and gold. ALS also states an interest in expanding their Chile portfolio... EMX's equity in RVL would give ALS exposure to 330,000 hectares of exploration land in Chile.
That said... Taking out EMX won't come cheap. If they are looking for smaller targets and assets they are familiar with... FNC and MOX make a lot of sense... Though these are not yet cash flowing.
