1 tonne of graphene will cover an area the size of New York. There will never be enough graphene demand to make any impact on the graphite market, even if all of the worlds graphene is made from graphite. (Graphene can be made without using graphite as a starting material).
There is no world shortage of graphite, there are enough known deposits to supply the world for hundreds of years.
One company is poised to flood the market with cheap graphite starting in 2016.
Anybody who is investing in graphite because of an upsurge in graphene demand needs to be injected with a strong dose of reality.
