Crude prices and the oil glutNothing matches the elation of a drowning man as when within the grip of a powerful hand he is snatched out of the brine and back up into the boat. Imagine the feeling of the survivor for his benefactor! America was going down for the 3rd time ’09 but yet the oil and gas industry spent freely in places like North Dakota, Wyoming, West Texas, Louisiana, and a host of other places where “money don’t circulate” with the same “joie de vivre” like it does in New York, Boston, or Chicago. Money was put into the hands of a lot of little people in America, -when and where it was needed most, at the time; and don’t think it didn’t make a hell of a difference! But nobody thanked them. Not really surprising. Obama wouldn’t want to look like he was in “big oil’s” pocket. But surely out of gratitude he could have tossed something back to the industry. Perhaps an OK on the Keystone for instance? While the glut of crude oil continues to build, an industry delegation presses the White House for an end to export prohibitions that prevent the free flow of these products to outside markets. All their entreaties fall on deaf ears. Obama could care less. Something is wrong here. One could get easily get the impression that Obama is “sticking it” to America, -a classic case of, “I’m gonna take you down” mentality. Or is it perhaps that Obama doesn’t think America is worthy of his lofty ideals? It’s a long 2 years to the end of this presidency.
