Not sure why it would be shameful to move money to another stock I deem to have more short term potential with a plan on returning to GCO and rebuying a few extra shares than I had before.  If it pans out, great; if not, tough chit for me.    Typically emotion is the reason people tend to resolutely hold onto investments and not make rational decisions.   It wasn't actually a panic sell either as I wasn't even aware of the news at the time; I just wanted in on another stock.  As far as the facts we have go, the status of Karakul is in limbo.   However, I am hoping it pans out as I intend to shuffle my cash back in (regardless of more or less shares) and cross my fingers that we see 0.15 or more again.
