RE:RE:Card access and video integration announcement Mr. Bolduc. your initial points are likely accurate. your last statement regardless of how much it pains me to say , is inaccurate. there are likely hundreds of companies who combine card access, intrusion and video ( including analytics in one shape or another) As stated on other postings, this is why despite my love of Avigilon, I was not happy to hear about them venturing into card access world. They had/have a great video product and frankly should have stuck to it. It would have made them less a threat to the companies who are already in the card access world. HID went from supplier of card credentials into offering card access panels and a great many were upset with this. AMAG, Lenel, Kantech, Honeywell, Tyco etc etc etc . Huge manufactures with 30 plus years of well earned respect within the security community. Stand alone, network, cloud based, biometric this and that you name it. No, there is no shortage of card access companies who integrate their own or independent video camera manufacturers into their systems. Given the enormous size of some of these card access systems (60 and 150K users) and the companies and departments that run them, I see ZERO immediate chance of AVO penetrating that market. School boards, some small plants or office towers sure, but not the big sites. At least not with what they have available right now. Nothing wrong with snagging these markets but not at expense of excelling in the video world Again, love AVO but it’s the video and analytics that is key here.
