I think the hardest part about understanding this company is what they are developing and knowing what milestones are relavant towards developing comercially viable IC's.
This is partially due to the complexe nature of what they are developing as well as some secrecy since they do not want to tip their hand to the competeting techs until the time is right.
I personally think this company is still high risk high reward and we are still a very long way off from anything remotely close to a fully IC that could be put into consumer electronics.
When something like that is available, that will be like when the vaccum tube was replaced by the transistor.
POET is competing against IBM and Intel, and looking at that IBM article, all three groups are still in the very early development phases and it's wayyyyyyy too soon to see which one will be more viable, cheaper and easier to produce.
I think POET is on the right track R&D wise, and they are definitely the underdog in this race (both in the way they are looking to develope this new tech, and their level of funding/resources)
