Mr. Duane Anderson reports
EDGEWATER WIRELESS LAUNCHES HIGH-DENSITY WI-FI DEVELOPMENT KIT; RESPONDING TO DEMAND FROM A FORTUNE 500 COMPANY
Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. is responding to demand from a Fortune 500 company for its patented technology. The company is launching a WiFi3 development kit to enable other equipment manufactures (OEMs) to develop and license Edgewater's patented multichannel WiFi technology.
Edgewater's WiFi3 development kit provides OEMs, and innovators of all sizes, an all-in-one prototyping pack that includes Edgewater's latest multichannel WiFi technology, combined with a licence and support package. The development kit allows for easy integration and licensing of Edgewater's multichannel technology into various high-volume products including access points, small cells, distributed antenna systems and networking hardware.
"With the average tech user carrying 2.9 wireless devices and the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), the density of WiFi clients is growing at a staggering pace," said Duane Anderson, chairman and chief technology officer for Edgewater Wireless. "Edgewater's WiFi3 development kit is specifically geared toward OEMs/vendors struggling to address the growing WiFi client density issue, while delivering the quality of service required by sensitive applications like VoWiFi [voice over WiFi]."
Like a single-lane road, traditional WiFi solutions rely on a single-channel architecture, making them susceptible to congestion, particularly in high-density environments. Using standards-compliant WiFi, Edgewater's patented WiFi3 technology enables multiple, concurrent channels per radio and, like a multilane superhighway, dramatically improves end-user quality of service in high-density WiFi applications.
Using a patented approach to mitigate adjacent channel interference and co-channel interference, WiFi3-powered solutions deliver the highest channel density on the market today, while offering advanced carrier-class capabilities including integrated, real-time spectral monitoring. Known as spectral surveillance architecture, Edgewater's WiFi3 feature set dramatically reduces operating expenses for carriers and large enterprises alike.
"The launch of the WiFi3 development kit unlocks licensing opportunities for Edgewater and positions our technology for volume integration into OEM solutions," said Andrew Skafel, president and chief executive officer of Edgewater Wireless. "We have a lead order and plan to ship in our first quarter 2015. We're really pleased to execute on another phase of our growth strategy."
We seek Safe Harbor.
