Shumba,

I also have shares in FTS and EMA.  I bought FTS at around $24 and the dividends have gone up marginally every year.  EMA I bought around $31 or $32 and it didn't do much for a long time but this past year has done very well.  I used to have shares of CU which I bought at $37 (pre split) and watched it move up to over $60 and thought it has risen too quickly so I sold.  My mistake!  It is one of my failings: I either sell too early or hold on too long.  Oh well.  You might want to have a look at National Grid.  It trades as an ADR on the New York Stock Exchange at about US$66.40 - I bought my shares some time ago at around US$43 when the Canadian dollar was on par with the US dollar.  It is a British company that has interests in both the UK and the US.  I use it to diversify my portfolio.  It issues dividends twice a year - about US$2.00 in August and US$1.00 in January.  In fact these are approximations as I believe the actual figures are higher.  Being Canadian these dividends dividends work out in my favour at present.  Anyway, take a look; the stock was trading in the middle 70s a little while ago and has come down quite a bit.  Let me know what you think.
