Keek adds app to Facebook Messenger platform
2015-03-25 13:46 ET - News Release
Ms. Alex Cameron reports
KEEK FEATURED IN FACEBOOK MESSENGER PLATFORM LAUNCH AT F8
Keek Inc. is participating in the launch of the Facebook Messenger platform. Keek has developed a separate app, called Keek for Messenger, as part of the launch, which was announced at F8, Facebook's global developer conference held in San Francisco on March 25, 2015.
With hundreds of millions of users, Messenger creates a place for people to express themselves with their friends and close contacts. The platform represents a new way for app developers like Keek to integrate with Messenger and brings the ability to add even more forms of expression and rich media to conversations. Today's launch brings the Keek brand and video expertise into the messenger space, demonstrating yet another strong product offering.
"It has been a privilege to work with Facebook's top-flight team, who were consistently dedicated, supportive and fun to work with. A select group of talent worked hard on this within a short time frame," said Jamie King, chief product officer at Keek. "For Keek, this is a terrific opportunity to expand our product offering to broader audiences and to work with a world-class company. Exciting times are ahead from both creative and technical perspectives, along with long-term revenue potential, as Keek already has plans for in-app purchase this year in the core product and will seek to deliver the same with Keek for Messenger."
Keek delivers a peek into the lives of creators, celebrities and real people in their natural element. Its 36-second format is the sweet spot for creators to tell their story and express themselves.
"Video is the communication tool of today for many, and we expect rapid adoption to continue. It's exciting to have worked with the Messenger team to help people share with Keek for Messenger," said Alexandra Cameron, chief executive officer at Keek. "We look forward to further collaborate and to bring fun new features to Keek for Messenger with upcoming releases to enhance the user experience."
Earlier this year, Keek Web 3.0 launched globally. The slick, new modular design of the Keek Web platform improves the ease of content discovery and creates a more immersive user experience. Keek has its own messenger feature within the Keek ecosystem and recently deployed that to Android devices as part of Keek 3.0, separate from today's launch with Facebook. A new Rekeek feature was also released for iPhone, rolling out across other platforms in the near future. Keek 3.0 is a ramp-up product, which will continue bringing redesign to devices, an enhancement leading up to Keek X. The release planned for this fall will be a totally new architecture with features driving an innovation in the social video user experience.
