The main jist is not to just acquire the monetary gain at the moment; but to also buy extra shares with the illegally acquired monies in order to create the illusion that there is demand & then sell at a higher price. An individual on his or her own cannot do this without a vast amount of money - but as a pack, they can be quite successful.


Simply put; market manipulation. These shorters are not investing to aid a company in acquiring capital to fund its enterprise; they are scum seeking to dismantle & ruin the enterprise.
