Sabine Pass updateSoutheast/Gulf/Texas Observer - FERC approves two new LNG trains at Sabine Pass along with pipe expansion
On Monday, FERC approved Trains 5 and 6 as part of the Sabine Pass LNG expansion as well as the associated Creole Trail Pipeline expansion. The ...expansion of the additional two trains is expected to increase export capacity to about 4.14 Bcf/d. Sabine Pass already has signed purchase agreements to deliver about 190 Bcf per year, accounting for most of the LNG from Train 5. The related Creole Trail expansion would add 38.4 miles of bi-directional pipeline, allowing for an incremental 1.5 Bcf/d of reverse flow capability in Zone 1. Zone 2 additions would include a 48.5 mile extension from the Gillis Compressor to the proposed Mamou Compressor Station as well as four laterals connecting the Mamou Station to interconnects with Columbia Gulf, Pine Prairie, ANR, and TGT. With the first train at Sabine Pass expected to be in service by late 2015, LNG exports are expected to help create a premium price environment in the Gulf Coast area by driving Southeast demand to 17.5 Bcf/d in 2016 and 23.1 Bcf/d in 2020.
