PanamexDEEP

PanamexDEEPI phoned HBK today with one question.

Is the water depth where the dolfins are and where the second conveyor system will be deep enough for ships?

I was told the distance from the shore is about the width of 4 traffic lanes and it drops off several hundred feet.
The Portland Canal is the 4th largest Fjord in the world.

Before HBK put the dolfins in they had to send a diver down to see what the bottom was like.

The dolfins can handle Panamex size. I have been sailing in Fjords on the BC Coast and you see cruise ships close to the shore.

Stewart is especially beautiful as it sits on tidelands at the top of the Portland Canal, the fourth largest fjord in the world. The canal, 145km/90mi long, opens up to the Pacific Ocean south of Ketchikan and north of Prince Rupert. Ice fields to the west and mountains to the east flank the channel. - See more at: https://www.hellobc.com/stewart/geography.aspx#sthash.9JcFWOKp.dpuf
