RE:Labour RelationsWell I would say in general productivity gets maintained to a degree that is world class and acceptable, workers in skilled jobs have pride. This is why Bombardier has survived as long as they have. It's all the negativity and lack of transparency when decisions are made by these idiots in Managerial and the so called efficiency experts they have mirroring unionized skilled workers that cause more problems than they solve.
So with regards to playing a card hand, I would say it's not Crazzy Eights where the winner is he who gets rid of his cards first. Or the skilled work that these so called Unions are supposed to fight protect. Where was the union when rich severance packages where exchanged for decent jobs once the staple for a middle class? No wonder G.M is where it is today, it was sold out by the losers promoting rich severance packages in exchange to get a go along with the corporate adjenda. Outsource and amalgamated jobs that create total confusion. Maybe less so on an assembly line environment?
How ever reality is workers have being SOLD out. National Rep's close deals at the expense to these middlemen In powered through collective bargaining agreements. Some what like G.M Canada should strive to float its aerospace industry. I wouldn't like to see it go the way of the G.M plant in Oshawa. Work sharing on firm orders is one thing but thinking these countries like Mexico produce quality is a illusion like a phone card trick. As for availability of work, the order book speaks for it's self.
Just an opinion form the inside perspective from a veteran of some thirty five years. For what it's worth.
