ORT's boD and my cities old set of councillers...

ORT's boD and my cities old set of councillers...
..so IMO ORT's BoD is a prime example of the "old white boys club" at work (or not) and it reminds me of somehting...about 15 years ago my city requested citizens develop a remuneration plan for our councillors and mayor, and i based on my credentials was selected to the committee.. now some thought they paid too much and other just about right...our council was all old white retired boys....so i asked the city to id how many councillors were acclaimed vs. contested elections in the last 3 elections... astonishingly over 50% were acclaimed and only 5% had more than two contestants...now here is the kicker, councillors at the time got about 15k remuneration per year and supposedly worked about 35 hours a week... i recommended which was accepted a +100% increase in compensation which was to be tied in future to the average income of working adults in our city...councillors accepted a big pay rase but not as much as i recommended (too hot potato) but outcome was exactly what i wanted our city no longer has acclamation in elections (most have 3+ contenstants and some in excess of six), the age of the council has dropped from +65 to somewhere around 50 and half councillors are now women...compensation matters and IMO ORT's BoD is so undercompensated that it is a case of you get what you pay (CL i believe is there on a special mission)....regards
