RE:here are some website on MBC ownership: all contradictoryYes, there is a lot of contradiction in the various sources so I tried to do some cross-referencing and found the following. It does appear the Canadian Equity (Trimark) Fund did unload its position in the last quarter and that is from the source. It would be 14.5 million shares if Morningstar data to the end of last year is correct. It appears Invesco Canada disposed of another 12.6 million shares from its institutional holdings in the same period leaving 4.43 million remaining. I cannot find the other 15.3 million block of allegedly held Invesco shares from other sources though Morningstar claims its data is up to date as of April 30/15. I also cannot find any other source claiming the holding of 14.5 million shares by Standard Life Assurance as Morningstar does. On the flip side most sources recognize Nierenberg Investment Mngmt. Co. as holding 11.91 million shares and a couple sources claim Aguila Ltd. - allegedly a private company out of Bermuda as holding 17.6 million shares - though Morningstar makes no mention of these. It does appear to quash the idea that Invesco would have a large enough position to influence the deal taken and it seems more certain that a partnership will be the outcome. Greg
