RE:RE:In talking with Sarh this morningHello Prince.
When I see you posting I think of the prince connection from Dilbert of "Phil the Prince of inadequate light".
I will respond to your question "ask is crestor a freerider or positive contributor to this group" by saying as I have said before that when you are getting into drug testing with people who are sick and who might die, you must be very careful of their health and not expose them to searious risk of death etc.
With the people in these tests who are in danger of death it would not be prudent to take them off of the standard of care which in their case is Statins - be it Lipitor or Crestor.
In any case while the testing was expected to show improvement there had not been previous testing which was done for the purpose of measuring efficacy.
I believe that the scientists in charge had no previous reason to suspect that Statins and in particular Lipitor would have any effect on efficacy. Animal testing would probably have been done without Statins and results of efficacy are not expected in Phase 1 testing which I believe is done to make sure no one will die of the drug rather than does the drug work and what level of effectiveness will be achieved.
I am very happy that they had a group of test subjects who had both Lipitor and Crestor so that it became possible to analyse the results and see that the Lipitor subjects had poor results while the Crestor subjects had very good results.
I suspect that with RVX only results there would be good results; but when people are expected to die during the testing process, simply from their state of poor health, when MACE is the measure there is no way that anyone who is in the least prudent would allow anyone without the standard of care being followed into the test group.
as to when the phase III test starts I believe it will start as soon as possible and my guess is that it will be either toward the end of June or in the third or fourth quarter of this year; But i realize that i have no way to say anything other thatn a guess
