Why must people with hidden agendas post false information such as "overburden is most likely sand" This is simply not true at all, the entire per the technical report the entire Paterson Lake area is covered in about 50 meters of Glacial till. Glacial till is most definitely not sand and if one were to research permeability of Glacial till, they would find that it is not actually very permeable. And so any water leaking into an open pit could be easily handled by pumps as happens with many open pit mines. Beware of people posting garbage, to put forward hidden agendas.
"Glacial drift is the coarsely graded and extremely heterogeneous sediment of a glacier; till is the part of glacial drift deposited directly by the glacier. Its content may vary from clays to mixtures of clay, sand, gravel, and boulders." Stop while you're behind.
