VIQ to Manage Audio for Unnamed Government Client 2015-06-01 08:39 ET - News Release
Mr. Sebastien Pare reports
VIQ SOLUTIONS SELECTED FOR TELEPHONY, VIDEO CONFERENCING CAPTURE AND MANAGEMENT PROJECT
VIQ Solutions Inc. has been selected by a Canadian federal government agency to capture and manage the customer's conference calls. Due to a request from the customer's communications branch, VIQ will not be identifying the customer by name.
In the initial phase of the project, VIQ will capture and manage the audio from the customer's telephone conference calls. VIQ's sophisticated back-end database provides the customer with the ability to tag calls with the appropriate metadata, as well as attach multimedia assets, such as meeting minutes or reports. The audio and associated files are securely stored in VIQ's database, making them easy to locate and share with authorized parties.
The customer is also implementing VIQ's Web-based NetScribe transcription platform for creating and managing transcripts of its captured conference calls. VIQ NetScribe provides customers with an automated transcription workflow that enables the efficient, collaborative creation of transcripts. NetScribe gives the customer the flexibility to use both in-house and remote transcriptionists and have a central repository for all transcripts. The customer is the first to operate VIQ's NetScribe transcription workflow as a service, rather than a fixed installation.
After the initial implementation, the next phase of the project involves the customer adding an SIP (session initiation protocol) video conferencing component to its telephone conference capture. VIQ's flexible software allows the addition of video conferencing to the customer workflow with a simple back-end licence change, with no interruption to the end-users.
"This is an exciting project in a very complementary market for VIQ Solutions," said Sebastien Pare, president and chief executive officer of VIQ Solutions. "Teleconferencing and video conferencing are key extensions of the audio and video capture and management that VIQ excels at. We are going to connect directly to the customer's telephony infrastructure and turn on all the power of VIQ digital platform straight from the VoiP. The project is also exciting as the NetScribe component is VIQ's first foray into SaaS, an exciting, high-growth delivery model that will provide [a] recurring revenue stream for the corporation and a straightforward, affordable solution for our clients."
