WindroseWindrose Global Tech. – Feb 2 NR – Virtually undetected by the market when it was released
Yappn Corp. has launched the global Ecommerce technology and services platform Windrose Tech. Windrose enables clients to increase market penetration (you have to remember that it’s not just American companies selling abroad, it’s the sales channels between Eurozone and Asia markets, etc.) and sell through with game changing real-time multilingual Ecommerce services in 67 languages through company's proprietary technology (true statement as the technology was granted a patent as per the March 17 news) and with its partner VerbalizeIt (natural synergy and remember this because it relates to customer care which is part of the overall value-add proposition), increasing language opportunities to up to 150 languages, effectively reducing the localization costs (value add for clients) generally associated with multilingual and regional Ecommerce programs. Windorose offers its services through Ecommerce store systems and directly to clients through professional services and /or a percentage of the upside multilingual sales (monetization strategy, recurring revenue opportunity), minimizing start up and running costs (another value add for potential clients). Windrose is already working with leading brands (this could be related to the DWF 3 year contract well underway or it could be a select group of beta testing brands – Disney, Marvel, just to name a few) to enable their multilingual Ecommerce programs. Windrose is a cloud based service platform, hosted on the Microsoft Azure network. Windrose facilitates seamless integration of content into multiple languages in real-time (the user just visits the site and their language is detected – another value add for ecommerce clients), on the fly through proprietary lexicon technologies, algorithms, robust APIs and patent pending supported language services. Windrose's proprietary technology and services enable clients to create natural language and specific customized terminology for language translation of the Ecommerce offerings, banners, in-stream ads, as well as social and marketing activities with Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest (translation of ads banners, yet another value-add for potential clients) and other networks along with full service customer support. Customer support services are also enabled allowing seamless conversations with customers, regardless of the language of the service representative or the users (Telus is apparently still involved with INT could their call centers be involved? Or is this Verbalizelt, or perhaps an in-house customer care center?). E-tailers and other Ecommerce vendors can now offer their clients, both domestically and internationally, the ability to have a native experience throughout the value chain (this also includes the shopping cart, very important as this is the critical step in the purchasing process), overcoming the language barrier and potentially increasing sell through rates while potentially reducing shopping cart abandonment (another value add) and subsequently, the loss of sales due to language issues. Windrose's technology solution connects directly into an Ecommerce Software database from an electronic store provider or a client's custom built store in order to present the shopping experience in multiple languages from beginning to end, thereby potentially decreasing shopping cart abandonment due to issues of customers understanding the checkout process.
You have to keep in mind that this all sounds great, but it is still potential. Although the existing revenue from DWF gives us a glimpse … this technology still has a significant mountain to climb. The Shopify app, scheduled for release this month will provide an excellent opportunity for the market to view their technology, if clients start seeing increased sales and more buy into the value proposition, Yappn could be on to something big. With only 8M in annual net revenue to breakeven, that line could be crossed sooner than most expect. DWF alone could garner upwards of $3M in 2015. If the Shopify launch fairs well, I would expect to see the app available on other leading ecommerce sites.
Not to forget Wonring … but that’s for another time or you could revisit the April 8th news release.
