Coming Natural Gas Shortage?
Coming Natural Gas Shortage? Before someone on here has a kitten, take a closer look at the available data. Using the actual EIA data sets that are available and knowing that Tight Oil and Shale Gas drilling has slowed down immensely, the believed large NG storage surplus may not last much longer!
First, take a look at the last 7 year average storage numbers for NG. I came up with an actual number of 2249 bcf. Today's number was 2233 bcf, so we are still under the average!
Next take a look at the EIA chart "Natural Gas Gross Withdrawals and Production". From 2009 to 2014, gross withdrawals of NG have risen from 26 tcf to 32 tcf. The scary thing though is that almost all of that increased production has resulted from Shale Gas wells, 4 tcf to 12 tcf (2013 data as the chart is not yet complete), while production from conventional gas wells has been dropping every year, 14.4 tcf to 11.2 tcf!
Folks, I submit that the numbers are telling a much different story from what the media is telling us and if Shale Gas is indeed a bubble, Parallel's real estate is really worth a king's ransom!
