"D-Box seats
A trip on the Star Ferry is not the only place where you might find yourself rocking. A Canadian innovation popular in Hong Kong cinemas is the D-Box. It’s a seat that moves and rumbles in time with the action on the screen. I visited the Olympic City cinemas in West Kowloon to ‘test drive’ it, as the Montreal-based D-Box Technologies describes the experience. The film was Fast and Furious 7, a good choice – a Woody Allen film would not likely have maximized the contortions the chair can offer. My D-Box chair gyrated and vibrated. Popcorn went flying. It was like a La-Z-Y Boy meets a mechanical bull. But it’s popular – reservations are required for a D-Box seat, and can be found in six cinemas in the Orange Sky Golden Harvest chain."
