Spdr S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Etf V.XOP.W

Primary Symbol: XOP

The investment seeks to provide investment results that, before fees and expenses, correspond generally to the total return performance of an index derived from the oil and gas exploration and production segment of a U. In seeking to track the performance of the S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Select Industry Index, the fund employs a sampling strategy. It generally invests substantially all, but at least 80%, of its total assets in the securities comprising the index. The index represents the oil and gas exploration and production segment of the S&P Total Market Index (S&P TMI).

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Private Placement

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Private PlacementI bought in because of Exxon's involvement.  The Exxon model is to acquire viable resource plays from smaller companies.  So on paper it looks like we will all be in for some great news once Exxon drills.  I think the real problem here is that the XOP management were so certain that with a drill there would be good news, they didn't bother to slow down their burn rate.  What I find frustrating is that Art told us all at the 2014 AGM, he promised to cut spending if XOP was getting close to running out of money.  Art did say that and he clearly did not do that after the money ran out.  They just keep spending it.  Because they kept expecting an Exxon drill would drive up the stock price and happy investors would forgive the excesses of management here.
