RE:NEW CONTRACT ABOUT TO BE AWARDED

Cartoon...good find. Eurocontrol also provides not only more robbust ISO certified marking service for fuel tracking purposes-but also beats competitors on price points as well.

An Outstanding Compelling value proposition for the end user overall.

ERB fuel marking system hailed

ERB lusaka

ESTHER MSETEKA, Lusaka
GOVERNMENT says the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has made progress in the fuel marking tendering process which will address contamination in petroleum products.
Minister of Mine, Energy and Water Development Christopher Yaluma said the fuel marking system will help deter and block those who intend to smuggle contaminated petroleum products in the country.
He said the measure will in turn have a positive impact on the livelihood of the public as they will be able to save costs on unnecessary motor repairs.
Mr Yaluma said this in an interview on the sidelines of the Zambia International Mining and Energy conference last week.
“We have gone out for tenders for international companies to come and provide what we call fuel marking. This system will enable us to ensure that energy petroleum products coming into the country are marked at the borders. ERB has already concluded the tender and I think they have now forwarded the issue to the Attorney General’s office.
“Fuel marking is one of the technology being used across the world to avoid contamination and also getting off illegal fuel in the country by some people who can bring polluted fuels into filling stations without us [Government] knowing and then they dump it in the country,” he said.
Mr Yaluma said with this system in place, it will be difficult for anyone to smuggle in contaminated petroleum products.
