I agree with most of your comments but I would like to add a couple of points. Many people do indeed drive to YVR and the parking is expensive as are the fees. (Why they need to build a shopping mall is beyond me!). If a family of 4 parks at YVR for a week they have spent $130 for parking and $80 for the AIF, $210.00. Same fees out of YXX... $54 and $20 for the AIF, $74 total. Save $136 and 1 hour plus drive to go see Granny in Hogtown...no brainer imho!
