RE:RE:RE:RE:Trolls and Paid Posters Spoiling the Forums
this is the response I got from the Stockhouse management. They are leary about monitoring and censoring the bull boards fearing that may expose them to possible law suit by users. ........................................ Dear Stockhouse User, Thank you for contacting us today with your inquiry. First, we would like to inform you that our administrators do not monitor or investigate any discussion on any Bullboard. This is because the Bullboard is a public online forum. If we were to monitor the activity of every poster, we can then be held legally liable for anything and everything posted. That is why we strongly encourage members to report any offending post(s) to our administrators by using the 'Report Abuse' tool located just below every message (for instructions: https://stockhouse.zendesk.com/entries/28422938-How-to-Use-the-Report-Abuse-Tool). This is required so that every claim submitted and every action taken on the post(s)/poster is kept on record in the case any legal issue was to arise. Be assured that Abuse Reports are reviewed for removal once every 24 hours on business days. Please remember to assist the Administrators by including a brief argument/evidence against the posting in the comments field when reporting abuse. Stockhouse may remove posts that we deems to be false, misleading, unlawful, promoting unlawful or criminal activities, harmful, threatening, defamatory, libelous, infringing, abusive, inflammatory, harassing, vulgar, obscene, fraudulent, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, sexually exploitive, hateful and/or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable; Stockhouse may also, in appropriate circumstances and at its sole discretion: (a) terminate or suspend memberships; and/or (b) limit members access to and/or use of any of the Stockhouse Network of Sites, whether or not there is any repeat infringement; and/or (c) Stockhouse deems a members conduct and/or User Content has violated the User Agreements, whether or not there is any repeat violation, with or without notice. Another option open to all users of the Bullboards is to ignore a specific user. This allows everyone to have individual control over their experience. In order to ignore a user on the Bullboards, please follow the directions on this link: https://support.stockhouse.com/entries/24882836-How-do-I-ignore-a-user- This member will now be ignored when you are logged into your account. If you would like to review your ignore list or someone off ignore, please follow the directions on this link: https://stockhouse.zendesk.com/entries/24779247-How-do-I-take-someone-off-my-Ignore-List- Thank you for your assistance in keeping the Bullboards free of inappropriate content. If you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Regards, Stockhouse Member Support
