HONG KONG, CHINA and CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 7, 2015) - Grand Power Logistics Group Inc. (the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:GPW) announces that it has expanded its operations in China to include a cross continental rail service.
This China-Europe rail service begins at its most easterly point in the Chinese city of Suzhou and stretches throughout Russia and Europe, ending in Hamburg, Germany. The newly formed route bridges the gap between air and sea, with containers arriving in approximately double the time as air shipping, but in less than approximately a third the time as shipping the same by sea. In addition, customers who are looking for an environmentally friendly solution can expect a significant fall in CO2 emissions, compared to airfreight.
As part of President Xi Jinping's "One Belt, One Road" strategy focusing on enhancing connections and trade between Asia and Europe, this initiative has continued to expand and will now include promotion of enhanced policy coordination across the Asian continent, financial integration, trade liberalization, and people-to-people connectivity.
Ricky Chiu, President and CEO of Grand Power said, "We are pleased to offer this new service to our clients, as it is a great compromise between higher costing air shipping and slower but cheaper ocean shipping. It provides an additional dimension of shipping options and flexibility, and even opens up new market channels for goods which need to be delivered in a faster but more economical manner." He added, "We are continually looking for ways to expand our services and increase our revenue through both our traditional channels and by moving into other segments of the market, with our underlying goal being to also increase our profit margins."
