SILVER WHEATON CORP. T.SLW

"Silver Wheaton is a pure, unhedged paper proxy on silver prices with a unique business model. The company purchases silver for sale through long-term purchase contracts from counterparties. Currently, the company has long-term silver purchase contracts with more than a dozen mines. Silver Wheaton purchased and sold roughly 28 million silver-equivalent ounces in 2012 through its purchase sales contracts."

Ottawa Digging for Gold in Their Own Way
Why go back all these years? Why go after subsidiaries that already pay tax in the host jurisdiction? This hardly seems different than the American move to tax income on Americans who work and live overseas, in this case attacking SLW as a dangerous precedent. Very sleazy and predatory IMO. Whatever happened to Canada's reputation as a safe jurisdiction for mining investment?
