RE:RE:RE:RE:My thinking on Debeers and PGD

RE:RE:RE:RE:My thinking on Debeers and PGDI've done contract drilling up at the Victor Project for several programs (EA/Groundwater Studies/Exploration) and it was an incredible experience.  The mine itself provided gainful employment and skills training for locals of James Bay.  They were very strict on safety & environmental protection as most mines are (good thing).  The camp itself was like the Hilton of mining camps...eventually got a full sized gym, exercise room, TV lounges with more channels than at home, and the food was 5 star.  If Nunavut gets the opportunity to have a mine with a similar foundation they can't go wrong.  I've done several projects throughout Nunavut, with the closest to site being Pangnirtung.  I have a few Inuk friends employed with Nuna Logistics who have been working at Chidliak for some time.  There's not much going on in the North relatively speaking so a mine site at south Baffin would give a lot of young Inuit (and all Canadians for that matter) a chance to develop & apply their skills at a really interesting career long project.  I fully support Peregrine in their efforts and hope that this mine moves forward sooner than later for everyone's sake.  If they can get DeBeers support I believe a lot of the leg work could be cut and paste from Victor.

Here's some pictures of Victor so you can know what to expect.
