Recap: Avigilon Takes Part in the Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR)
Avigilon’s presence was front and center at the 2015 Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition conference, also known as CVPR. The conference is described by industry insiders as the premier Computer Vision event, drawing other influential technology leaders such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft. Avigilon’s Director of Video Analytics, Aleksey Lipchin, stated that “the CVPR gives you a feeling of major trends and state-of-the-art technology in these fields.” This year, Avigilon actively participated in the entire conference for the first time as a Platinum Sponsor, giving us global visibility in the high-tech industry as a leader in innovation.
With a central exhibitor booth, we generated steady traffic with attendees lining up for a chance to experience Avigilon’s key product demonstrations, including our HD Cameras and award-winning Avigilon Control Center (ACC) software.
We also hosted an Open House session with Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Dr. Mahesh Saptharishi, where students, academics and industry researchers had the chance to speak with Avigilon’s CTO in an open discussion about the future of analytics and our latest innovations. Lipchin stated, “CVPR proved to be a great opportunity to meet with the best researchers from around the world and candidates who are experts in their field.”
In the end, it was a successful event because we met with some great talents in the fields of computer vision and machine learning.” Senior Recruiter, Jennifer Rigal, said, “From the Avigilon exhibitor booth, to our open-house session, CVPR was a truly fantastic event!”
