RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:GV, a question of your experience with Lipitor???Just a short comment on Lipitor versus Crestor.
In my personal experience after taking Lipitor for a number of years my doctor switched me to Crestor a number of Years ago. This was prior to being able to get the generic form of Crestor Rosuvastatin here in Canada. the reason for the change was that I was having muscle problems and changing to Crestor caused the muscle pain to decrease and in fact go away.
Also my doctor has me on a low dose of rosuvastatin which controls my LDL to within the range he feels comfortable with.
For a period of time prior to having a colonoscopy done he was comfortable taking me off the Rosuvastatin as well as the childrens aspirin and then putting me back on both after the scoping.
If I were on Lipitor and could possibly be considered for the phase III trial I would have a talk with my doctor about being placed on rosuvastatin instead of atorvarvastatin.
In fact now that the generic Crestor is available I would talk to my doctor on general principles about any benefits or disadvantages to switching to Rosuvastatin rather than Lipitor. I believe that we will see the phase III study results being good and approval of RVX-208 relatively soon.
