Surge Energy Inc (Alberta) T.SGY

Alternate Symbol(s):  ZPTAF | T.SGY.DB.B

Surge Energy Inc. is a Canada-based oil focused exploration and production (E&P) company. The Company's business consists of the exploration, development and production of oil and gas from properties in Western Canada. It holds focused and operated light and medium gravity crude oil properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, characterized by large oil in place crude oil reservoirs with low recovery factors. It offers exposure to two of the five conventional oil growth plays in Canada: the Sparky and SE Saskatchewan. It holds a dominant land position and is drilling a mix of horizontal multi-frac and horizontal multi-lateral wells in the Sparky area. Sparky is a large, well established oil producing fairway in Western Canada. SE Saskatchewan is a focused operated asset base with light oil operating netbacks. SE Saskatchewan operates low-cost wells with short payouts and offers potential for continued area consolidation.

RE:SGY& PC...BEST IN CLASS
Papagallo, Yes, your comments re returning to higher oil prices seem timely. I, being a dumb Yank, worry about a couple of things stepping in front of that upward repricing of Oil (at least in the foreseeable future). The Wild cards in all this are not Surgecentric, but much more beyond Surge's control. Things that could derail a meaningful share price appreciation are in the realm of: 1. OPEC stepping up production as prices increase. 2. World wide recession or depression . 3. Canada increasing the tax burden on producers in order to fund the Social Services programs. Of course, by Dec. there will most probably be shock and awe in the shale oil industry, which will probably paint the entire sector with a red brush via general lumping all things oily together. And, perhaps it's time to give NG a nod, as with the decrease in the spuding of new wells the attendant NG that is being produced will not be coming on line. One thing for sure, it's not going to be smooth sailing going forward for great Companies or for Trash Companies.
