RE:RE:RE:Siemens is near deal to buy part of BBD Train after iPoVery interesting observation and one I am sure they are pondering.
They would lose the flexability of how they run the Transportation business and what they do with the money.
The only reason I can see for the IPO would be to establish a value and what interest there is for the enterprise if they were thinking of selling the whole thing.

IPOing their recreational products was good strategic timing - they could get "top" dollar for that segment while BBD was in decent condition.

Rail IPO is a more solid business unit and is being IPO'd out now that BBD is in worsened conditions.


The only question in my mind is whether the market would find the "unlocking" of value through a rail IPO is a positive or negative for BBD.

+ve, more cash upfront in the hands of BBD.
-vs, lost revenue for BBD going forward.
