I 100% agree about the targets being missed in the past. Even as recently as the LG 3DGO launch. In that case we had no idea what was going on as fall/christmas/mar 31 were missed/missed/barely met. There was ZERO communication.
In the above case, SIO had the app ready to go months before the actual launch, but LG was backlogged on getting everything ready for the launch of their new OS and delayed everyone getting onto the TVs. Sensio's fault? No. Should they have communicated that in some way to the market? ABSOLUTELY
Fast forward a few months to today... We have Routhier on several occasions confirming that the Samsung launch is "on track" for September. This has been confirmed in updates, tweets and on their Facebook page as well in other direct conversations. Asking for Routhier to continually confirm the same over and over is getting a bit needy imo.
Could we get a bit more colour on the international launch? Sure, I would like that. But I suspect the focus is very much on making sure Samsung launches ON TARGET. Once we get the launch next month we can start focusing on where they are on the internation launch and on streaming devices, etc (which they no doubt are also working on, but the immediate priority in an ON TIME Samsung launch imo). We NEED LG and Samsung on ALL their 3DTVs for the upcoming holiday sales period. As much as new marketing (theater ads, contests, google ads, etc) is great and very much needed, the reality is that it is infinitely easier to get the customer when they first buy the TV vs. an existing owner. This is why Black Friday/Christmas sales will be so important this year after we missed last year.
So I AGREE with Sailor's comment that an update on the international expansion would be welcome. However I think I've stated in the past that the new format is already 100% implemented. Once the format was perfected, implemention was not an issue. Impementation is the easy part.
So I don't understand why people would expect yet another PR on it. If anyone has any questions they can call or tweet the company and they will confirm the same.
