RE:Why Warrren Buffet buy in aerospace ?
Buffett is buying Precision Castparts because he knows that company has a lock on supplying aircraft engines and components to GE Boeing, Airbus, etc, and those companies have huge backlogs. I've owned PCP nearly as long as I've owned BBD. PCP is 93% institutionally owned. Very few individual shareholders like myself. But you'd have known about it if you followed BBD closely and knew who was supplying jet engines along with the all -important fasteners etc that became such a big issue on the 787 development. Buffett comes late to the game, but wins because he has far greater assets. Like the guy who wins at sky's the limit poker by outbidding everyone else. Even with the premium of about $45 a share I'm not happy selling to Buffett. I'd rather have held PCP indefinitely.
