Canadian Operations segment includes the exploration for, development of, and production of oil, NGLs, natural gas and other activities within Canada. Market Optimization segment is primarily responsible for the sale of the Company’s production to third-party customers and enhancing the associated netback price. The segment’s activities also include third-party purchases and sales of product to provide operational flexibility.

RE:Canada's Encana to sell Haynesville natgas assets for $850 m

Good sale on the face of it. It lowers debt from ~5.6 to ~4.8 Billion or 15%. That's very substantial and makes the company more palatable if the majors are looking to takeover well run companies with good focussed producing lands.
