Here's what I can tell you based on my own due diligence:

Have a look at the alternative monthly reporting on sedar.  Franklin resource INC has been exiting LRE since March.  My guess is the stock price, balance sheet woes and elimination of the dividend were primary factors.   Volume may be masked by "Anonymous" and use of other houses.  My Guess only

Stock price and/or other factors may have fallen below the fund mandate / guidelines. I didn't have a look at it

From what I have been able to surmise over the past number of years is Sprott Trades show as Mcquarie.  There was a net accumulation of 384,000 shares on news of MEI investment.  I didn;t see any dispositions of recent.

Sprott resource corp looks like it's pretty beaten up (no different that most I guess).  Here is their publicly disclosed portfolio for energy (as of June 30th, 2015).

I'm just sharing this info.  As usual, do your own due diligence. 

As for your thoughts on MIE, it would stand to reason that you would accumulate shares ahead of the announcement.  This would have had to been disclosed as far as I know due to proposed percentage ownership associated with placement. (43.9% undiluted)
