Tweets from a publically traded company to get information out to shareholders? I am not impressed. That is why I sold MEZZI because of cr*p like that. It's just not professional and personally it comes across as being desperate. Its all smoke and mirrors. If the company had news to disclose than use canadian newswire, not Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or any of this other stuff. Give me some meat and potatoes in a news release. These guys are stalling for some reason.
I actually tend to disagree. I believe a company should be using ALL media outlets to market, share news, and stay in touch with shareholders/potential investors. Twitter, facebook, NR's etc, their own company website etc should all be used in tandem. Twitter/facebook for small tidbits of info (non material stuff) and NR's for the big material news. Using twitter/facebook shows they are up on using technology (afterall it would be dumb) to NOT be using the latest technology at your fingertips when YFI themselves is all about being at the forefront of technology. Nothing wrong with Twitter/facebook, etc to get your word out and it shows your company is up with the times and alive ..and willing to keep shareholders in the loop. I think it's great. In this day in age, the ones without a twitter/facebook account are the ones who are "behind" and NOT showing transparency.
Yes but what about all of the people who don't use that stuff. Than its not a fair playing field. I am surprised that publically traded companies get away with it. You make some good points about the company trying to use all available media outlets to stay in touch with potential shareholders. But any important news has to be released in a news release. I don't know why I get the feeling that the company is stalling for some reason. I went back a couple of years to read past news releases again and really this technology is not new so why hasn't somebody already bought these guys out if its so good. Something doesn't add up. I will be digging deeper into this outfit to make sure they are exactly what they claim. It shouldn't take a F500 company this long to make a decision. Perhaps I am being paranoid because of all the mining companies I have invested in over the years were so good at using stall tactics when the news wasn't good.
With a no name company like IAG spearheading everything, why wouldn't you be suspicious.

Look at all that news!
Not even a Facebook page or Twitter account, I guess you could say they were not bieng transparent enough ....
