It's all about Neumeyer and his team and their access to resources to do additional exploration, etc. Akiko would not have sold, IMHO, unless she felt like she had a win-win situation by turning it over to the most competent team to take it forward and add value to whatever share of equity she decides to retain. Until yesterday, it was about sitting on the Springpole asset until this horrendous market eventually turns, which would have meant dilution and keeping the lights on in Vancouver. Now it's a world-class asset plus a world-class team. Personally, I was tempted to sell just because I had picked up substantial shares when PineTree dumped, but looking at the deal--and guessing Neumeyer has a reason for doing it now--it looks undervalued, so I picked up some more shares this morning.
