Don't be obsessed with gold price in US dollar as many other people are. It is meaningless to nmi whose expenses are mostly in Australian dollars. They had great earnings when they sold gold at A$1522 in H1 2015 and was profitable when gold was near A$1400 last year. Gold is currently way above that near A$1600. Their AISC will obviously be much lower in Q3 with the continuing plunge in the Australian dollar due to slowdown in China, but many people can't see past that, still thinking in US dollar terms.
