An US slave cannot simply go to Canada and open an account.
If you know how to do this, I would be grateful for a lead.

You could buy AXY directly on Canadian (and other) exchange w/Interactive Brokers...they would do the currency conversion on the fly. I don't use them because my account is linked to my 401k, so I am stuck w/MGMXF. I have co-workers w/IB accounts though, and they have bought other TSX and TSX-V stocks directly. If I ever open a separate account, it'll probably be w/IB though.
