RE:In the past I brought up the "questionable quality" issue

RE:In the past I brought up the "questionable quality" issue HBK has very good construction quality aggregate. This is advantageouse because as you point out it is not the norm for the area. In terms of aggregate HBK has the diamond in the ruff so to speak.

When you speak of cheap aggeregates from Polaris it is a relative notion. You need to compare landed prices to Prince Rupert. To run barges to Prince rupert is expensive. You are talking about a 500 nautical mile trip. 1000 for the round trip. That is about 35 hours each way. Empty backhauls would make this very difficult to work with.

concerning aggregates in Prince Rupert . I was bashed by a resident pumptard that calls everyone a moron on this BB that dares ask and or points out valid points ......... My prior " ENGINEERING GEOLOGY OF AGGREGATES BRITISH COLUMBIA" post validates this concern in regards to Prince Rupert aggregate quality . That being said , this would justify the lack of demand for Prince Rupert aggregates . Ascot Swamp Point got a few contracts in the past (150k tonnes worth ), but then went bust . They blamed the 2008 crisis . However , Polaris is doing quite well concerning demand for their aggregates which do not come from the Prince Rupert area . Note that Polaris has a higher quality aggregate and sells it for a lower price per tonne compared to the price and quality of HBK . IMHO
