Fundamentals always trump TA (price trends) in long run..For newbies you should do some due dilligence on TA (charting or tech analysis) since there is not one scientific study every done that shows that there is any merit to T.A. however, it is massively used on low level , and even some high level, stock discussion boards to heard investors in direction that usually benefit the writer...... Its popular for those manipulating because it is easy to use... just call out a price target and back it with one of the hundreds of potential patterns in the book of tech analysis --which have no merit.... just calling out a price prediction , on a short term basis is also a form of TA manipulation , as no one knows (unless possessing inside info) what stock prices will do in the short term (this is a fact) ... I would suggest that almost every time a comment is made based on TA, charting or short term price trends, that it is a manipulation tactic simply an effort to manipulate less experienced investors...My advice is simply ignore any talk of TA, charting, and short term price trends where no concrete discussion of business fundamentals is used...if you do not you will get your pocket picked every time...
