A company with this kind of cash flow, even with the debt situation, would be a compelling investment for anyone with deep pockets. Even a pension fund would normally be interested here at this decent rate of return. The problem is, the management of this comPany is SO terrible that it can only be taken over by a team that has competencies in the chemicals area. That leaves the list of potential buyers as VERY few, maybe two, in fact, that could afford it and that knew how to improve it. The other one essentially wasn't interested, and superior is willing to take on the debt and the challenge of righting the company....they have the know how. Others simply don't. Doug couldn't get a better offer because his management team is clearly terrible.....and they'll all be gone soon. Even Doug now understands this. His reputation is taking it on the chin, and he knows it.
