RE:1 LNG PlantI don't think the politics will make a big difference, they can talk all they want but when royalties and taxes drop because drilling and produciton are falling then all bets are off, and even the Alberta NDP have to help the industry not kill it othewise their tenure will be very short lived.
the voters that wanted change and voted NDP, didn't want to lose their jobs because the province wants to enact legislation that will make it impossible for O&G companies to compete.
when budgets are in severe trouble, they will back off or at least make new taxes contingent on much higher commodity prices.
if they stay in power for 2 terms then pensions really kick in, so keep the voters happy will be their moto, not kill the biggest employer and tax payer in the province.
but hey i could be totally off base, maybe there are politicians that care more about the environment than their pensions, nah I doubt it.
