I also see this this change as a positive and agree with your first couple of points.

As far as the trojan horse theory is concerned, I'm not convinced, but an acquisition is always a possibility for any company.

Looking at Tom Schmutz's LinkedIn profile not only was he with L-3's Aviation Recorders division. He was that division's Vice President, Engineering, which somehow wasn't really pointed out in the NR. I'd say he'll be bringing a fresh and more experienced look to the table and help build greater market creds for FLYHT's products.
