RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Potential BuyersHey Sailor,
You and most regulars were definitely not targeted. Sorry if you felt that way.
I just get annoyed whenever occasional posters and newcomers just come here and state as fact that SIO is ripe to get bought by Netflix or someone else.
It's such a different approach and an entirely different business model. Makes no sense whatsoever.
As for 3DGO! (the exclamation point really is silly, but whatever), since they went all in, I sure hope they pull through, but maintain that it's not going to be realistic to expect any level of success by spreading already paper-thin resources to Europe, where eveything needs to be done from scratch, including re-negotiating rights with different business units, so paying yet some more money, addressing localization issues (re-encoding for the localized content - some countries require different cuts due to censorship, different language, different text on screen, etc...), launching a new marketing campaign from scratch (not that they've done a good job at that in NA), etc...
The market may be bigger in Europe, but I think that's a decision that should have been taken several million dollars and a few years ago. SIO needs to fill the coffers first. But like Jeff Bridges would say in The Big Lebowski, that's just, like, my opinion, man ;-)
